Pastor Wayne Phillips was born March 8, 1962 and raised by Christian parents in rural Anderson County, TN. Because of the godly influence of his mom and dad, Wayne was saved in a revival at the age of 9 years old. He is a 1980 graduate of Lake City High School and graduated in May of 1985 with a B.S. from Cumberland College.
On June 8, 1985 Pastor Wayne married Joan Long, his high school sweetheart and became a member of MSBC. In March of 1997, Wayne surrendered to the ministry and in September 1997 he was ordained by the Main Street Baptist Church family. From September 1997 to February 2003, he served as Youth Pastor. Since February 23, 2003 Wayne has served as Senior Pastor.
Pastor Wayne’s greatest desire is to Pastor a healthy New Testament Church. “I want to lead a church that is committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ in Lake City and around the world” (Acts 1:8). “I believe that God has placed His hand on our church and has called
us to change the world for His glory” (Jn. 4:34)
