Meet Our Staff

Children’s Ministry Director

Hello! My name is Jackie Byrge. I am the Children’s Director at Main Street Baptist
Church. Please allow me to share my testimony. I was saved when I was a senior in
high school. I grew up in church and attended Bible camp where I remember going
forward during invitation time, but as I grew older, I began to have some doubts about
my salvation. I couldn’t clearly remember asking Jesus; I didn’t know if I understood
what Jesus had done for me. So, when I was on a mission trip with my church in 2001, I
got my salvation “nailed down.” I asked the Lord to save me, and I trust with all my heart
that He did that day!
While attending the church I grew up in, Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs,
and going to college, I had the privilege of meeting my husband, Russell Byrge. I joined
Main Street shortly after we met in 2007. We were married in 2008, and the Lord
blessed us with a son, Grant, in 2013. I have worked with children in a church setting for
most of my life. I’ve also worked with children in a church daycare for several years and
as a teacher in Anderson County Schools for over 11 years. In 2019, we made the
family decision to homeschool our son, and the flexibility of homeschooling has given
me the opportunity to explore new avenues in which to work with children.
I am blessed to be on staff at Main Street Baptist Church, and I consider it my mission
to show the love of Jesus to everyone I meet! We are all called to be disciples for Christ,
and it is a joy that I get to share the Good News with the children of Main Street!
